{{Nihongo foot|'''Eighting Co., Ltd.''',|株式会社エイティング|Eitingu Kabushiki gaisha|lead=yes|group=lower-alpha}} stylized as '''8ing''', is a Japanese video game developer and publisher. It formerly existed as two separate companies: Eighting and {{Nihongo foot|Raizing.|ライジング|Raijingu|lead=yes|group=lower-alpha}} It is known for its shoot 'em ups and its licensed fighting games.

Eighting's name comes from nanakorobi yaoki, a Japanese proverb that says "fall down seven times and get up eight times."<ref>{{Cite web |title=What is 8ing? |url=https://www.8ing.co.jp/en/company/8ing/ |access-date=2025-12-10 |website=株式会社エイティング |language=en}}</ref> Raizing was derived from raijingu (rising) and Raijin, the Japanese god of lightning.<ref name=":0" />

== History == In March 1993, former Compile staff established Raizing and Eighting to create arcade games.<ref name=":6">{{Cite web |title=History |url=https://www.8ing.co.jp/en/company/history/ |access-date=2025-12-11 |website=株式会社エイティング |language=en}}</ref> Raizing handled game development while Eighting did sales and distribution. Raizing included a handful of employees who worked on ''Musha Aleste'', including Yuichi Toyama, Kazuyuki Nakashima, and Kenichi Yokoo.<ref name=":0" /><ref name=":1">{{Cite web |last= |date=2022-01-05 |title=Raizing STG – 2010 Developer Interview |url=https://shmuplations.com/raizing/ |access-date=2025-12-10 |website=shmuplations.com |language=en-US}}</ref>

Their first game, ''Mahou Daisakusen/Sorcer Striker'', was released in May 1993. The developers were advised by Toaplan.<ref name=":1" /> When Toaplan closed, some staff joined Raizing.
