'''2020 Florida Amendment 5''', commonly known as the '''Extend "Save Our Homes" Portability Period Amendment''', was a proposed amendment to the constitution of the US state that passed 74.49% to 25.51% in the 2020 election on November 3, 2020. The amendment increased the period during which a person may transfer "Save Our Homes" benefits to a new homestead property from two years to three years.<ref name="usatodayresults" />

== Overview == The amendment extended the application for portability from a two-year window to a three-year window. It required 60% support to pass,<ref>{{Cite web |last=Milberg |first=Glenna |date=2020-10-05 |title=Explaining Florida Amendment 5: Limitation on Homestead Assessments |url=https://www.local10.com/vote-2020/2020/10/05/explaining-florida-amendment-5-limitation-on-homestead-assessments/ |access-date=2023-05-01 |website=WPLG |language=en}}</ref> ultimately receiving 74.49% support. The affected article of the state constitution was Article VII, Section 4; Article XII.<ref>{{cite web |date=November 3, 2020 |title=ELECTION RESULTS: What Florida Amendments passed? |url=https://www.firstcoastnews.com/article/news/politics/elections/election-results-what-florida-amendments-passed/77-b2bd89a2-237b-4515-beb8-836219f7e3b5 |access-date=2023-05-01 |website=firstcoastnews.com |language=en-US}}</ref>
