The tournament ran from 1 June to 27 August 2011. The teams in the tournament remained the same as the previous season.

The ECB opted to retain the enlarged schedule from the previous season, despite criticism that the tournament had become bloated. The final saw Leicestershire Foxes beat Somerset for their third title.
