==History==
The area formed part of Poland since the establishment of the state in the 10th century. Ziemlin was a private village of [Polish nobility](/source/szlachta), administratively located in the Kościan County in the [Poznań Voivodeship](/source/Pozna%C5%84_Voivodeship_(14th_century_to_1793)) in the [Greater Poland Province](/source/Greater_Poland_Province%2C_Crown_of_the_Kingdom_of_Poland) of the Kingdom of Poland.<ref>{{cite book|author=<!--Staff writer(s); no by-line.--> |title=Atlas historyczny Polski. It was regained by Poles in 1807 and included within the short-lived [Duchy of Warsaw](/source/Duchy_of_Warsaw), and after the duchy's dissolution in 1815, the village was reannexed by Prussia, and was also part of [Germany](/source/German_Empire) from 1871. Following [World War I](/source/World_War_I), Poland regained independence and control of the village.

Following the joint German-Soviet [invasion of Poland](/source/invasion_of_Poland), which started [World War II](/source/World_War_II) in September 1939, the village was [occupied by Germany](/source/Occupation_of_Poland_(1939%E2%80%931945)) until 1945 and local [Poles](/source/Polish_people) were subjected to [various crimes](/source/Nazi_crimes_against_the_Polish_nation). One local farmer was among Poles murdered in a public execution perpetrated by the German ''[Einsatzgruppe VI](/source/Einsatzgruppen)'' in the nearby town of [Krobia](/source/Krobia) on October 21, 1939, as part of the ''[Intelligenzaktion](/source/Intelligenzaktion)''.<ref>{{cite book|last=Wardzyńska|first=Maria|year=2009|title=Był rok 1939.
