## Overview

While the Brandenburg municipalities of [Zeuthen](/source/Zeuthen) and [Eichwalde](/source/Eichwalde) are situated on its western shore, the wooded eastern bank and the tiny Zeuthener Wall island belong to the Berlin borough of [Treptow-Köpenick](/source/Treptow-K%C3%B6penick). The [polymictic lake](/source/Polymictic_lake) is traversed by the [River Dahme](/source/Dahme_(river)).

The Dahme flows into the Zeuthener See at its southern end, where it meets the linked [Grosser Zug](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Grosser_Zug&action=edit&redlink=1) and [Krossinsee](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Krossinsee&action=edit&redlink=1) lakes. It flows out by the Berlin suburb of [Schmöckwitz](/source/Schm%C3%B6ckwitz), where the Zeuthener See meets the [Langer See](/source/Langer_See) and [Seddinsee](/source/Seddinsee) lakes. The Zeuthener See is navigable, and carries traffic from the Berlin area to the upstream reaches of the Dahme.[1]
