# Zero Cuts

**Zero Cuts** (Spanish: ***Recortes Cero***) is a Spanish [eco-socialist](/source/Eco-socialism) [political party](/source/Political_party), initially founded as a group of electors, formed to contest the [2014 European Parliament election](/source/2014_European_Parliament_election_in_Spain). Subsequently, it has contested the [2015](/source/2015_Spanish_general_election) and [2016 general elections](/source/2016_Spanish_general_election) together with [The Greens–Green Group](/source/The_Greens%E2%80%93Green_Group).[3][1] It is supported by the [Communist Unification of Spain](/source/Communist_Unification_of_Spain). In the [2019 Spanish general election](/source/April_2019_Spanish_general_election), the filmmaker [Fernando Colomo](/source/Fernando_Colomo) was the [Madrid](/source/Madrid_(province)) candidate to the [Spanish Senate](/source/Spanish_Senate) for the coalition Zero Cuts – [The Greens](/source/The_Greens%E2%80%93Green_Group) – [Castilian Party](/source/Castilian_Party) – [Commoners' Land](/source/Commoners'_Land). His aim was to promote the list rather than becoming elected.[4]
