# Zabel Point

**Zabel Point** (Bulgarian: нос Забел, ‘Nos Zabel’ \'nos 'za-bel\) is the ice-covered, rock-tipped point on the southwest side of the entrance to [Buragara Cove](/source/Buragara_Cove) on the west coast of [Brabant Island](/source/Brabant_Island) in the [Palmer Archipelago](/source/Palmer_Archipelago), [Antarctica](/source/Antarctica). It was formed as a result of the retreat of [Rush Glacier](/source/Rush_Glacier) near the start of the 21st century.

The point is named after the settlement of [Zabel](/source/Zabel,_Bulgaria) in Western Bulgaria.

## Location

Zabel Point is located at [64°23′05.5″S 62°39′21″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=64_23_05.5_S_62_39_21_W), which is 2.08 km southwest of [Devene Point](/source/Devene_Point), 2.4 km northeast of [Humann Point](/source/Humann_Point) and 6.9 km east-northeast of [Gand Island](/source/Gand_Island).
