**Yio Chu Kang Stadium** is a [multi-purpose stadium](/source/Multi-purpose_stadium) located in [Ang Mo Kio](/source/Ang_Mo_Kio), Singapore.[1][2]

It has a seating capacity of 2,000.

It is run by [Sport Singapore](/source/Sport_Singapore) and was opened to the public on 1 April 1985. It is a rugby specific stadium with 8-lane running track.[2]

## History

In December 2015, [Hong Kong](/source/Hong_Kong_national_under-20_rugby_union_team) played against [Singapore](/source/Singapore_national_rugby_union_team) during the [2015 U-19 Asia Rugby Championship](/source/2015_U-19_Asia_Rugby_Championship) held at the stadium. The Singapore side lost the game 10–61.[3]

On 7 December 2019, the Special Olympics South-east Asia Unified 5-a-side Football Tournament kicked off in Singapore at the stadium seven years after its inauguration.[4]

## Transport

The stadium is accessible by [MRT](/source/Mass_Rapid_Transit_(Singapore)), bus and taxi and it is a short walk from [Yio Chu Kang MRT station](/source/Yio_Chu_Kang_MRT_station).
