Access to Yellowcraig is by the A198 coastal route through Dirleton. A visitor car park lies {{convert|270|m|yd}} south of the beach. The area includes information displays, a barbecue area and a Treasure Island themed adventure play park. Yellowcraig is on the [John Muir Way](/source/John_Muir_Way), a {{convert|73|km|mi|adj=on}} [long distance footpath](/source/long_distance_footpath) between [Fisherrow](/source/Fisherrow), [Musselburgh](/source/Musselburgh) and [Dunglass](/source/Dunglass), named in honour of the [conservationist](/source/conservation_movement) [John Muir](/source/John_Muir), who was born in [Dunbar](/source/Dunbar). Yellowcraig is featured in the leaflet ''[Aberlady](/source/Aberlady) to [North Berwick](/source/North_Berwick)'' among a series of leaflets on the John Muir Way.
