**Yefremovsky District** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Ефре́мовский райо́н) is an administrative district ([raion](/source/Raion)), one of the [twenty-three](/source/Administrative_divisions_of_Tula_Oblast) in [Tula Oblast](/source/Tula_Oblast), [Russia](/source/Russia).[1] As a [municipal division](/source/Subdivisions_of_Russia#Municipal_divisions), it is incorporated as **Yefremov Urban Okrug**.[3] It is located in the southeast of the [oblast](/source/Oblast). The area of the district is 1,649 square kilometers (637 sq mi).[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] Its [administrative center](/source/Administrative_center) is the [town](/source/Types_of_inhabited_localities_in_Russia) of [Yefremov](/source/Yefremov_(town)).[1] Population: 64,227 ([2010 Census](/source/Russian_Census_(2010)));[2] 23,436 ([2002 census](/source/2002_Russian_census));[5] 25,057 ([1989 Soviet census](/source/1989_Soviet_census)).[6] The population of Yefremov accounts for 65.9% of the district's total population.[2]
