'''Ye Peng''' ({{zh|s=叶蓬|t=葉蓬|p=Yè Péng|w=Yeh P'eng}}, sometimes also transliterated '''Ye Feng''', 1897&ndash;1947) was a [Chinese](/source/Chinese_people) [lieutenant general](/source/lieutenant_general) who fought for the [Republic of China](/source/Republic_of_China_(1912%E2%80%9349)) and later became a key figure in the [Nanjing Nationalist Government](/source/Reorganized_National_Government_of_the_Republic_of_China) of [Wang Jingwei](/source/Wang_Jingwei).

== Biography ==
Ye was born in [Huangpi County](/source/Huangpi%2C_Wuhan), Hubei in 1897. <ref>{{Cite web |title=民國近代史 |url=https://digroc.pccu.edu.tw/CNH/Personage/personage.aspx?ID=0002225 |access-date=2025-08-03 |website=digroc.pccu.edu.tw}}</ref>He entered the [Baoding Military Academy](/source/Baoding_Military_Academy) in 1917 and graduated in 1919 from its artillery department. He rose through the ranks of the [National Revolutionary Army](/source/National_Revolutionary_Army) during the 1930s, holding various military posts. In 1939 he joined [Wang Jingwei](/source/Wang_Jingwei) and his pro-peace faction, being appointed to the [Kuomintang](/source/Kuomintang) central committee under his [Reorganized National Government of China](/source/Wang_Jingwei_regime). Ye became the head of a training center in [Shanghai](/source/Shanghai) and was a member of the Central Military Commission. In 1941 he was appointed to command the 29th Army. In June 1942, he replaced [Yang Kuiyi](/source/Yang_Kuiyi) as Chief of General Staff. In April 1943, he became head of the Minister of Military Affairs. In 1945 Ye became governor of the [Hubei Province](/source/Hubei_Province). After the defeat of Japan in August of that year, he served under [Chiang Kai-shek](/source/Chiang_Kai-shek) again briefly, commanding the 7th Army. On September 18, however, he was [executed](/source/Capital_punishment) in Nanjing for the crime of [hanjian](/source/hanjian).
