**Yass Valley Way**[1] is the main road which links [Yass, New South Wales](/source/Yass%2C_New_South_Wales)[2] to the [Hume Highway](/source/Hume_Highway) (to [Sydney](/source/Sydney) and [Melbourne](/source/Melbourne)) and to the [Barton Highway](/source/Barton_Highway) (to [Canberra](/source/Canberra)) in Australia. The road is about 18 km long and runs parallel to the [Yass River](/source/Yass_River). It was created when the Hume Highway bypass of Yass was built in the early 1990s. This cleared the massive [traffic bottleneck](/source/Traffic_bottleneck) that plagued Yass due to the passing interstate traffic. After the completion of the bypass, local traffic predominates.
