'''Yang Wenguang''' ({{lang-zh|t=楊文廣}}; died 1074) was a general in ancient China's [Northern Song dynasty](/source/Northern_Song_dynasty).

Historically, Yang Wenguang is the grandson of [Yang Yanzhao](/source/Yang_Yanzhao) and Princess Chai; and the great grandson of [Yang Ye](/source/Yang_Ye) which are depicted in the various stories of [Yang clan warriors](/source/Yang_Jia_Jiang).

==Biography==
In 1044, [Fan Zhongyan](/source/Fan_Zhongyan) was dispatched to the [Shaanxi](/source/Shaanxi) area and met with Yang Wenguang. He was impressed and took Yang as his subordinate. In 1052, Yang Wenguang followed [Di Qing](/source/Di_Qing) in the expedition to [Guangxi](/source/Guangxi) and helped defeat [Nong Zhigao](/source/Nong_Zhigao)'s rebellion. Afterwards he was promoted by [Emperor Yingzong](/source/Emperor_Yingzong_of_Song). Later, he built several [forts](/source/forts) in [Shaanxi](/source/Shaanxi) and successfully resisted several [Western Xia](/source/Western_Xia) invasion attempts. During [Emperor Shenzong](/source/Emperor_Shenzong_of_Song)'s reign, he was stationed in [Dingzhou](/source/Dingzhou). He offered the emperor his strategy on recovering lost territories from the [Khitans](/source/Liao_dynasty) shortly before he died at the frontier.
