# Yanarrajo

**Yanarrajo**[1][2] (possibly from [Quechua](/source/Quechua_language) *yana* black,[3] *rahu* snow, ice, mountain with snow,[4] "black snow peak" is a mountain in the [Cordillera Blanca](/source/Cordillera_Blanca) in the [Andes](/source/Andes) of [Peru](/source/Peru), about 5,055 metres (16,585 ft) high. It is situated in the [Ancash Region](/source/Ancash_Region), [Yungay Province](/source/Yungay_Province), in the districts [Yanama](/source/Yanama_District) and [Yungay](/source/Yungay_District).[2] Yanarrajo lies in the [Huascarán National Park](/source/Huascar%C3%A1n_National_Park), south-west of [Yanapaccha](/source/Yanapaccha), near the [Llanganuco Lakes](/source/Llanganuco_Lakes).[1]
