Lacuna on Titan

Woytchugga Lacuna Cassini view of Titan's north polar seas and lakes in the near infrared. Feature type Lacus Coordinates 68°30′N 109°00′W / 68.5°N 109.0°W / 68.5; -109.0 Diameter 449 km

**Woytchugga Lacuna** is one of the largest [lakes of Titan](/source/Lakes_of_Titan).

It is located at 68°53′ [N](/source/North) and 109°00′ [W](/source/West)[1] on [Titan's](/source/Titan_(moon)) surface and at 449 [km](/source/Kilometre) in length it is the longest [Titanean lake](/source/Lakes_of_titan) and third longest body of a number of "[hydro-carbon](/source/Methane) [lakes](/source/Lakes_of_Titan)" found on [Saturn's largest moon](/source/Titan_(moon))".[2] The lake is composed of [liquid](/source/Liquid) [ethane](/source/Ethane) and [methane](/source/Methane),[3] and was detected by the *[Cassini–Huygens](/source/Cassini%E2%80%93Huygens)* [space probe](/source/Space_craft). Indications are that it is an intermittent *lake* and so was named in 2013 after [Lake Woytchugga](/source/Lake_Woytchugga) near [Wilcannia](/source/Wilcannia), [Australia](/source/Australia).[1]
