# Witte Peaks

**Witte Peaks** ([71°32′S 2°4′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=71_32_S_2_4_W)) is a line of about four [nunataks](/source/Nunatak) trending SW-NE, rising 15 nautical miles (28 km) west of [Stein Nunataks](/source/Stein_Nunataks) on the north part of [Ahlmann Ridge](/source/Ahlmann_Ridge) in [Queen Maud Land](/source/Queen_Maud_Land). Discovered by the [German Antarctic Expedition](/source/Third_German_Antarctic_Expedition) under Ritscher, 1938–39, and named for [Dietrich Witte](/source/Dietrich_Witte), motor mechanic on the expedition. Surveyed by [Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition](/source/Norwegian-British-Swedish_Antarctic_Expedition) (NBSAE), 1949–52.
