**Winterborne Monkton** is a small [village](/source/Village) and [civil parish](/source/Civil_parishes_in_England) in the [county](/source/English_county) of [Dorset](/source/Dorset) in southern England. It lies close to the [A354 road](/source/A354_road) between the county town [Dorchester](/source/Dorchester%2C_Dorset), 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the north, and the coastal resort [Weymouth](/source/Weymouth%2C_Dorset), 5 miles (8.0 km) to the south. [Dorset County Council](/source/Dorset_County_Council)'s 2013 mid-year estimate of the parish population was 50.[1]

Winterborne Monkton village consists of a few houses and the church of St Simon & St Jude.

The [hill fort](/source/Hill_fort) of [Maiden Castle](/source/Maiden_Castle%2C_Dorset) stands to the northwest.
