# Winston Watkins Jr.

**Winston Lance Watkins Jr.** (born March 18, 2007) is an American [college football](/source/College_football) [wide receiver](/source/Wide_receiver) for the [LSU Tigers](/source/LSU_Tigers_football).

## Early life

Watkins attended [IMG Academy](/source/IMG_Academy) in [Bradenton, Florida](/source/Bradenton,_Florida) from his freshman year to midway through his junior year when he transferred to First Baptist Academy in [Naples, Florida](/source/Naples,_Florida).[1] For his senior year he attended [Venice High School](/source/Venice_High_School_(Florida)) in [Venice, Florida](/source/Venice,_Florida).[2] He had 61 receptions for 1,170 yards with 13 [touchdowns](/source/Touchdowns) his junior year and 78 receptions for 1,011 yards with 17 touchdowns his senior year. Watkins was selected to play in the 2025 [All-American Bowl](/source/All-American_Bowl_(high_school_football)).[3] He originally committed to play college football at the [University of Colorado Boulder](/source/University_of_Colorado_Boulder) before flipping to the [University of Mississippi](/source/University_of_Mississippi).[4][5]

## College career

Watkins earned playing time during his true freshman year at Ole Miss in 2025.[6]

## Personal life

His cousins, [Sammy Watkins](/source/Sammy_Watkins), [Austin Watkins](/source/Austin_Watkins) and [Jaylen Watkins](/source/Jaylen_Watkins), played in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL).[7][8]
