# Win Tun

**Win Tun** (Burmese: *ဝင်းထွန်း*) was the [Minister of Environmental Conservation and Forestry](/source/Ministry_of_Environmental_Conservation_and_Forestry_(Burma)) of [Myanmar](/source/Myanmar) from 2011 to 2016. He was appointed in February 2011 by President [Thein Sein](/source/Thein_Sein).[1] He was previously Managing-Director of the Ministry of Forestry during the [State Peace and Development Council](/source/State_Peace_and_Development_Council) era.[2]
