Born in [Cali](/source/Cali), [Valle del Cauca Department](/source/Valle_del_Cauca_Department), Cuero graduated from [Millonarios](/source/Millonarios)' youth setup. In July 2011 Cuero was loaned to [Cádiz CF](/source/C%C3%A1diz_CF), but appeared mainly with [the B-team](/source/C%C3%A1diz_CF_B).
