The oldest of twelve children, Harry was recruited to Carlton by [Jack Worrall](/source/Jack_Worrall) and made his debut in Round 11, [1906](/source/1906_VFL_season), against {{AFL Col}} at [Princes Park](/source/Princes_Park_(stadium)). After his solitary game for Carlton, he returned to his family in Rutherglen.
