# William Fowell

**William Fowell** (died 23 March 1507) of [Fowelscombe](/source/Fowelscombe) in the [parish](/source/Parish) of [Ugborough](/source/Ugborough) in [Devon](/source/Devon),[1] was a [Member of Parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament) for [Totnes](/source/Totnes_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) in Devon in 1455.[2]

He was the son and heir of Richard Fowell of Fowelscombe by his wife Mary Walrond, a daughter of William Walrond. He married Elinor Reynell (died 9 April 1507), a daughter of [Walter Reynell](/source/Walter_Reynell_(fl.1404)) ([fl.](/source/Floruit) 1404) of Malston[2] in the parish of [Sherford](/source/Sherford_(near_Kingsbridge)) in Devon, a member of parliament for [Devon](/source/Devon_(UK_Parliament_constituency)) in 1404.[3] Fowell died on 23 March 1507 and his wife died 16 days later on 9 April 1507.[2] The couple's monument survives in Ugborough Church.[4]
