**William Lewis Van Lier** (born 7 April 2004) is an English professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for [Kettering Town](/source/Kettering_Town_F.C.) on loan from [National League North](/source/National_League_North) club [King's Lynn Town](/source/King's_Lynn_Town_F.C.).

## Career

Van Lier joined the youth system at [Peterborough United](/source/Peterborough_United_F.C.) in 2012 and was part of the team that reached the [FA Youth Cup](/source/FA_Youth_Cup) fourth round in [2021–22](/source/2021%E2%80%9322_FA_Youth_Cup).[2] He won the LFE Goal of The Month award for March 2022.[3] He signed a two-year professional development contract in May 2022.[4][5] He made his first-team debut in an [EFL Trophy](/source/EFL_Trophy) game on 21 November 2023, when he came on as a 67th-minute [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) for [Harley Mills](/source/Harley_Mills) in a 1–0 defeat at [Colchester United](/source/Colchester_United_F.C.).[6]

On 12 May 2024, the club announced he would be released in the summer once his contract expired.[7]

On 27 July 2024, Van Lier signed for [Peterborough Sports](/source/Peterborough_Sports_F.C.) after his contract expiration.[8] He scored his first goal for the club in a 3–1 over [Oxford City](/source/Oxford_City_F.C.).[9]

On 16 July 2025, Van Lier joined fellow [National League North](/source/National_League_North) club [King's Lynn Town](/source/King's_Lynn_Town_F.C.).[10] In September 2025, he joined [Leamington](/source/Leamington_F.C.) on loan.[11] In February 2026, he again departed on loan, joining [Southern League](/source/Southern_Football_League) Premier Division Central club [Kettering Town](/source/Kettering_Town_F.C.).[12]
