'''Wilhelm Jacoby''' (1855–1925) was a German [playwright](/source/playwright), who concentrated largely on creating [farce](/source/farce)s notably the 1890 work ''[Pension Schöller](/source/Pension_Sch%C3%B6ller_(play))'' which he co-authored with [Carl Laufs](/source/Carl_Laufs). He was the father of the film director [George Jacoby](/source/George_Jacoby), who adapted ''Pension Schöller'' into film on three occasions.
