The path runs for {{convert|49|mi|km}}, mostly sharing the route of the [Shropshire Way](/source/Shropshire_Way).

==The route==
The route runs from [Church Stretton](/source/Church_Stretton) in the [Shropshire Hills](/source/Shropshire_Hills) [AONB](/source/AONB) to [Ludlow](/source/Ludlow). It is named for [Eadric the Wild](/source/Eadric_the_Wild).

From Stretton it climbs up the [Long Mynd](/source/Long_Mynd), and [Stiperstones](/source/Stiperstones) descending to [Bishops Castle](/source/Bishops_Castle) using both a [medieval](/source/medieval) [drovers' road](/source/drovers'_road), the Portway and [Offa's Dyke Path](/source/Offa's_Dyke_Path) to reach quiet [Clun](/source/Clun) and [Norman](/source/Norman_architecture) [Clun Castle](/source/Clun_Castle) before traversing the [Iron Age](/source/Iron_Age) [hillfort](/source/hillfort) at [Bury Ditches](/source/Bury_Ditches) and heading to [Craven Arms](/source/Craven_Arms) and finally [Ludlow](/source/Ludlow), the centre of the [Welsh Marches](/source/Welsh_Marches).
