'''Wiedau''' is a river of [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It is a left-hand tributary of the [Wümme](/source/W%C3%BCmme).

The Wiedau begins near Bellen (a district of [Brockel](/source/Brockel)) in the vicinity of [Hemslingen](/source/Hemslingen) in the [district of](/source/Rotenburg_(district)) at the confluence of the [Hahnenbach](/source/Hahnenbach_(Wiedau)) and the Mehlandsbach. In the area the [''Samtgemeinde'' Bothel](/source/Samtgemeinde_Bothel), it flows through a densely wooded and near natural depression. It discharges into the [Wümme](/source/W%C3%BCmme) in [Rotenburg](/source/Rotenburg_(W%C3%BCmme)) shortly after being joined by the only slightly smaller [Rodau](/source/Rodau_(W%C3%BCmme)).

The Wiedau is popular with [anglers](/source/angling) and [canoe](/source/canoe)ists. At high water, the Wiedau can be navigated from the road bridge in Bellen near Hemslingen to its mouth on the Wümme by small [kayak](/source/kayak)s, a distance of {{cvt|23|km}}.
