***What A Week*** was a Canadian [political satire](/source/Political_satire) show on [CBC Radio One](/source/CBC_Radio_One) that aired on Saturdays in 2003.[1] Debuting on April 12, 2003,[2] it ran for two 13-episode seasons.[citation needed] Following the satirical tradition of *[Royal Canadian Air Farce](/source/Royal_Canadian_Air_Farce),* the program poked fun at the past week's news stories, through impressions, comedy sketches, songs, and editorial commentary.[1]

The show was written by [Dean Jenkinson](/source/Dean_Jenkinson).[3] Other writers included [Paul Mather](/source/Paul_Mather), [Al Rae](/source/Al_Rae), [Jerry Schaefer](/source/Jerry_Schaefer) and [George Westerholm](/source/George_Westerholm), and featured the voices of [Tony Daniels](/source/Tony_Daniels), [Deann deGruijter](/source/Deann_deGruijter), [Ray Landry](/source/Ray_Landry) and [Ron Rubin](/source/Ron_Rubin_(voice_actor)).[citation needed]

## Reception

Tom Fletcher, editor of the *[Maple Ridge News](/source/Maple_Ridge_News)* in British Columbia, complained about the "western hick" humour which was a recurring theme in [CBC](/source/CBC_Television) programs including *What A Week.*[4]
