The '''Westshore Wolves''' are a [junior ice hockey](/source/junior_ice_hockey) team based in [Colwood, British Columbia](/source/Colwood%2C_British_Columbia), [Canada](/source/Canada). They are a member of the South Division of the [Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL)](/source/Vancouver_Island_Junior_Hockey_League). The Wolves entered the [VIJHL](/source/Vancouver_Island_Junior_Hockey_League) in 2012, replacing a former franchise, the [Westshore Stingers](/source/Westshore_Stingers). They play their home games at [The Q Centre](/source/The_Q_Centre) under head coach Mike Nesbitt. They are the official farm team of the [Langley Rivermen](/source/Langley_Rivermen).

== History ==

The Wolves were one of two expansion teams in the 2012–13 VIJHL season, the other being the [Nanaimo Buccaneers](/source/Nanaimo_Buccaneers). In three seasons, the Wolves have done relatively well, finishing top three in their division every year. As with many expansion franchises, they have slowly gained momentum and become a strong team within a few years..<ref>{{cite web|author= |url=http://www.timescolonist.com/sports/westshore-wolves-on-the-rise-in-vijhl-1.2086168 |title=Westshore Wolves on the rise in VIJHL | Times Colonist |publisher=www.timescolonist.com |date=2015-10-14 |accessdate=2015-11-21}}</ref>

In 2024, the [VIJHL](/source/Vancouver_Island_Junior_Hockey_League) announced that it would withdraw from the [Hockey Canada](/source/Hockey_Canada) framework and operate as an independent farm league for the [BCHL](/source/British_Columbia_Hockey_League) beginning in the 2024–25 BCHL season.<ref>{{cite news |last1=Ewen |first1=Steve |title=Vancouver Island Junior B loop cuts ties with Hockey Canada, joins forces with BCHL |url=https://theprovince.com/sports/hockey/junior-hockey/vancouver-island-junior-b-loop-cuts-ties-with-hockey-canada-joins-forces-with-bchl#:~:text=The%20league%20left%20the%20Canadian,system%2C%E2%80%9D%20in%20September%202022. |access-date=29 May 2024 |work=The Province |publisher=Postmedia |date=30 April 2024}}</ref><ref>{{cite web |title=VIJHL announces decision to become independent league |url=https://www.vijhl.com/vijhl-announces-decision-to-become-independent-league |website=vijhl.com |publisher=Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League |access-date=29 May 2024}}</ref> Soon thereafter, the Westshore Wolves became the [farm team](/source/farm_team) of the [Langley Rivermen](/source/Langley_Rivermen).<ref>{{cite news |last1=Ferguson |first1=Dan |title=Langley Rivermen acquire a farm team |url=https://www.aldergrovestar.com/local-sports/langley-rivermen-acquire-a-farm-team-7374050 |access-date=12 June 2024 |work=Aldergrove Star |publisher=Black Press Media |date=6 June 2024}}</ref>
