## Geography

### Location

The community lies in the [Westerwald](/source/Westerwald) between [Montabaur](/source/Montabaur) and [Limburg an der Lahn](/source/Limburg_an_der_Lahn). Weroth lies 290 m above [sea level](/source/Sea_level). It belongs to the [*Verbandsgemeinde* of Wallmerod](/source/Wallmerod_(Verbandsgemeinde)), a kind of collective municipality. Its seat is in the [like-named town](/source/Wallmerod).

## History

In 1322, Weroth had its first documentary mention.

The municipal council is made up of 11 council members who were elected in a [majority vote](/source/Plurality_voting_system) in a municipal election on 13 June 2004.

Right nearby to the community's north runs *[Bundesstraße](/source/Bundesstra%C3%9Fe)* 8, leading from [Limburg an der Lahn](/source/Limburg_an_der_Lahn) to [Hennef](/source/Hennef_(Sieg)). The nearest [Autobahn](/source/Autobahn) [interchange](/source/Interchange_(road)) is *[Diez](/source/Diez,_Germany)* on the [A 3](/source/Bundesautobahn_3) ([Cologne](/source/Cologne)–[Frankfurt](/source/Frankfurt_am_Main)), some 4 km away. ## Regular events

[Saint Sebastian](/source/Saint_Sebastian)’s Day on 20 January is to this day still a holiday in Weroth, as the community was spared a [Plague](/source/Bubonic_plague) [epidemic](/source/Epidemic).

Likewise held every year is the Live-Rock-Festival at the *Bürgerhaus* on *Kirmesfreitag* (“[Kermis](/source/Kermis) Friday”)
