British–born Canadian costume designer

**Wendy Partridge** (born September 20, 1954) is a British–Canadian costume designer in film and television.

Partridge was nominated for a [Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Costumes for a Miniseries, Movie, or Special](/source/Primetime_Emmy_Award_for_Outstanding_Costumes_for_a_Miniseries%2C_Movie%2C_or_Special) for her work on the 2006 two-part [AMC](/source/AMC_(TV_channel)) series *[Broken Trail](/source/Broken_Trail)*.[1] She won a [Canadian Screen Award for Best Costume Design](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award_for_Best_Costume_Design) for the 2014 film *[Pompeii](/source/Pompeii_(film))* and [Genie Awards for Best Costume Design](/source/Canadian_Screen_Award_for_Best_Costume_Design) for *[Passchendaele](/source/Passchendaele_(film))* (2008) and *[Loyalties](/source/Loyalties_(1986_film))* (1986).[2] She was nominated three times in one year at the [2013 Canadian Screen Awards](/source/1st_Canadian_Screen_Awards) for *[Resident Evil: Retribution](/source/Resident_Evil%3A_Retribution)*, *[Silent Hill: Revelation](/source/Silent_Hill%3A_Revelation)*, and *[Hannah's Law](/source/Hannah's_Law)*.[3] [Marvel Cinematic Universe](/source/Marvel_Cinematic_Universe) film *[Thor: The Dark World](/source/Thor%3A_The_Dark_World)* and [Guillermo del Toro](/source/Guillermo_del_Toro)'s *[Hellboy](/source/Hellboy_(2004_film))* have earned her [Saturn Award](/source/Saturn_Award) nominations.[4]

Partridge got her first dressmaking job at 14 years old whilst still in [England](/source/England).[5] She moved to [Edmonton](/source/Edmonton) in the 1970s and to [Calgary](/source/Calgary) in 1986.[3] She designed the costumes for the opening and closing ceremonies of the [1988 Winter Olympics](/source/1988_Winter_Olympics).[6] She also designed the [World War I](/source/World_War_I)-style uniforms that were worn at the [First inauguration of Barack Obama](/source/First_inauguration_of_Barack_Obama) in 2009 as well as the costume of [Abraham Lincoln](/source/Abraham_Lincoln).[7]
