# Wayne Garner

**Wayne Garner** (born May 8, 1951)[1][2] is an American politician.[3] He served as a [Democratic member](/source/Democratic_Party_(United_States)) for the 30th district of the [Georgia State Senate](/source/Georgia_State_Senate).[1]

## Life and career

Garner was born in [Fulton County, Georgia](/source/Fulton_County,_Georgia). He attended Douglas County High School[4] and the [University of West Georgia](/source/University_of_West_Georgia).[5]

In 1980, Garner was elected to represent the 30th district of the [Georgia State Senate](/source/Georgia_State_Senate),[1] serving until 1994.[5]
