# Watorowo

**Watorowo** /watorowo/ is a village in the administrative district of [Gmina Kijewo Królewskie](/source/Gmina_Kijewo_Kr%C3%B3lewskie), within [Chełmno County](/source/Che%C5%82mno_County), [Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship](/source/Kuyavian-Pomeranian_Voivodeship), in north-central Poland. It is located in the [Chełmno Land](/source/Che%C5%82mno_Land) in the historic region of [Pomerania](/source/Pomerania).

## History

During the [German occupation](/source/Occupation_of_Poland_(1939%E2%80%931945)) ([World War II](/source/World_War_II)), in 1939, local Polish teachers were murdered by the Germans in a massacre of [Poles](/source/Polish_people) committed in nearby [Klamry](/source/Klamry) as part of the *[Intelligenzaktion](/source/Intelligenzaktion)*.[1]
