The monument stands on [Peniel Heugh](/source/Peniel_Heugh), OS ref: NT 653263, a hill between [Ancrum](/source/Ancrum) and [Nisbet, Roxburghshire](/source/Nisbet%2C_Roxburghshire). The zip wire, built by Vertical Events, is believed to be the longest ever set up in the UK and was {{convert|1500|ft}} long.<ref>{{Cite web |url=http://www.borderevents.com/events/eventdetails?eventid=B0A06A8D-8044-4A81-8E8C-04BCBDA936A1 |title=The Peniel Heugh Monument Zip Slide |work=Border Events |accessdate=2011-05-02}}</ref>
