'''Wasashatta''', also spelled Wasašatta, was a king of the [Hurrian](/source/Hurrian) kingdom of [Mittani](/source/Mittani) ca. the early thirteenth century BC.

==Reign==
Like his father [Shattuara](/source/Shattuara), Wasashatta was an [Assyria](/source/Assyria)n vassal. He revolted against his master [Adad-nirari I](/source/Adad-nirari_I) (c. 1295-1263 BC ([short chronology](/source/short_chronology))) and sought help in vain from the [Hittites](/source/Hittites). The Assyrians crushed his revolt and devastated Hanigalbat. The royal family was captured and brought to [Assur](/source/Assur) and Wasashatta was never heard of again.<ref>{{cite book|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=YgBREAAAQBAJ&dq=wasashatta&pg=PA257|title=The kingdom of the Hittites|year=2005|author-last=Bryce|author-first=Trevor|isbn=978-0-19-159332-1 }}</ref>
