# Ward Inlet

**Ward Inlet** ([63°30′N 067°35′W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=63_30_N_067_35_W&title=Ward%20inlet))[1] is a body of water in [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut)'s [Qikiqtaaluk Region](/source/Qikiqtaaluk_Region). It lies in eastern [Frobisher Bay](/source/Frobisher_Bay), forming a wedge into [Baffin Island](/source/Baffin_Island), separating [Becher Peninsula](/source/Becher_Peninsula) from [Hall Peninsula](/source/Hall_Peninsula). [Augustus Island](/source/Augustus_Island) lies deep into the inlet.

Ward inlet was the site of the [Hudson's Bay Company](/source/Hudson's_Bay_Company)'s south Baffin operations until 1949 when they moved to [Apex](/source/Apex,_Nunavut) to take advantage of [Frobisher Bay Air Force Base](/source/Frobisher_Bay_Air_Force_Base) located nearby.
