# Walter Freer

**Walter Freer** (born c. 1846) was a [Scottish](/source/Scotland) [Liberal Party](/source/Liberal_Party_(UK)) worker. He was the son of a notable [Chartist](/source/Chartism) and has been described as a "staunch [Gladstonian](/source/William_Ewart_Gladstone)".[1] He was also a power-loom tenter and [temperance](/source/Temperance_movement) worker.[2]
