The building is located on the corner of [Hay Street](/source/Hay_Street%2C_Perth) and [William Street](/source/William_Street%2C_Perth), Perth. It stands opposite the [Gledden Building](/source/Gledden_Building) and [Wesley Church](/source/Wesley_Church%2C_Perth), two other heritage listed buildings on this corner. Construction on the site began in 1922 and was complete by early 1923. The building took on its current name when the Walsh's Menswear store opened on the ground level.
