***Walrus/Groon*** is a collaborative 12" EP between the Japanese [experimental](/source/Experimental_music) [doom](/source/Doom_metal) band [Boris](/source/Boris_(band)) and Japanese [noise musician](/source/Noise_music) [Merzbow](/source/Merzbow).[1][2][3] It was first sold at the 2007 [South by Southwest](/source/South_by_Southwest) festival in [Austin, Texas](/source/Austin%2C_Texas).

"Walrus" is a cover of "[I Am the Walrus](/source/I_Am_the_Walrus)" by [The Beatles](/source/The_Beatles), specifically the [Spooky Tooth](/source/Spooky_Tooth) 1970 version.[4] "Groon" shares its name with a [King Crimson](/source/King_Crimson) improvisational piece, but has no musical resemblance. A different version of "Groon" appears on *Switching Rethorics* as "Vanlla Groon", [*[sic](/source/Sic)*] featuring sampled drums/guitar and credited to Merzbow only. It was later compiled on *[Another Merzbow Records](/source/Another_Merzbow_Records)*. The artwork references that of the [Yes](/source/Yes_(band)) album *[Close to the Edge](/source/Close_to_the_Edge_(Yes_album))*. The release was pressed on five different vinyl colors: black, yellow with green, white with green, white with yellow, and clear with green.
