**Wallisson Luiz Alves Máximo** (born 23 September 1997), simply known as **Wallisson**, is a Brazilian professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for club [Coritiba](/source/Coritiba_Foot_Ball_Club).

## Club career

Born in [Central de Minas](/source/Central_de_Minas), [Minas Gerais](/source/Minas_Gerais), Wallisson began his career with local side [União Luziense](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Uni%C3%A3o_Luziense_Esporte_Clube&action=edit&redlink=1) [[pt](https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uni%C3%A3o_Luziense_Esporte_Clube)] in 2015. He moved to [Holanda](/source/Holanda_Esporte_Clube) later in the year, appearing for the club in the 2015 [Copa Amazonas](/source/Copa_Amazonas).[1]

Wallison played for the under-20 side of Holanda during the 2016 season, as the club did not have a senior squad active. He represented [Portuguesa-RJ](/source/Associa%C3%A7%C3%A3o_Atl%C3%A9tica_Portuguesa_(RJ)) in 2017, also in the under-20 category.

In November 2017, Wallisson was included in [Democrata](/source/Esporte_Clube_Democrata)'s squad for the [2018 Campeonato Mineiro](/source/2018_Campeonato_Mineiro).[2] He was subsequently loaned to [Ponte Nova](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ponte_Nova_Futebol_Clube&action=edit&redlink=1) [[pt](https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponte_Nova_Futebol_Clube)], before returning to Democrata in January 2019.[3]

On 7 May 2019, Wallisson was presented at [Volta Redonda](/source/Volta_Redonda_FC),[4] on loan from [Serra Macaense](/source/Serra_Macaense_Futebol_Clube). He signed a permanent deal with *Voltaço* on 7 October,[5] and was regularly used afterwards.

On 11 January 2022, after a short period at [Nova Venécia](/source/Nova_Ven%C3%A9cia_Futebol_Clube) (where he won the [Copa Espírito Santo](/source/Copa_Esp%C3%ADrito_Santo)), Wallisson signed for [Athletic-MG](/source/Athletic_Club_(MG)).[6] On 12 April, he moved to [Série B](/source/Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_B) side [Ponte Preta](/source/Associa%C3%A7%C3%A3o_Atl%C3%A9tica_Ponte_Preta).[7]

On 4 August 2022, after already becoming a starter for Ponte, Wallisson renewed his contract with the club until 2027.[8] In December, however, he terminated his link after alleging unpaid wages.[9]

On 20 December 2022, Wallisson was announced at [newly promoted](/source/2022_Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_B) to [Série A](/source/Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_A) side [Cruzeiro](/source/Cruzeiro_Esporte_Clube).[10] The following 28 August, [recently promoted](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_Moreirense_F.C._season) to [Primeira Liga](/source/Primeira_Liga) club [Moreirense](/source/Moreirense_F.C.) announced the signing of Wallisson on a four-year contract.[11]

On 5 January 2024, after having failed to establish himself as a starter for Moreirense, Wallisson returned to Brazil, signing for [recently promoted](/source/2023_Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_D) to [Série C](/source/Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_C) side Athletic-MG.[12]
