'''Walker D. Russell Sr.''' (born October 26, 1960) is an American former professional [basketball](/source/basketball) player. He was a 6'5" {{convert|190|lb|abbr=on}} [shooting guard](/source/shooting_guard) born in [Pontiac, Michigan](/source/Pontiac%2C_Michigan).

Russell played collegiately for [Oakland Community College](/source/Oakland_Community_College), the [University of Houston](/source/University_of_Houston), and [Western Michigan University](/source/Western_Michigan_University). He was selected with the 9th pick of the fourth round (78th overall) of the [1982 NBA draft](/source/1982_NBA_draft) by the [Detroit Pistons](/source/Detroit_Pistons).  He also played for the [Atlanta Hawks](/source/Atlanta_Hawks) and the [Indiana Pacers](/source/Indiana_Pacers).  His stint in the [CBA](/source/Continental_Basketball_Association) saw him playing for the [Detroit Spirits](/source/Detroit_Spirits), which later became the [Savannah Spirits](/source/Savannah_Spirits), and the [Kansas City Sizzlers](/source/Kansas_City_Sizzlers).  Russell also took his talents overseas to the [Philippine Basketball Association](/source/Philippine_Basketball_Association) playing for the [Presto Ice Cream Makers](/source/Presto_Ice_Cream_Makers) and the [Purefoods TJ Hotdogs](/source/Purefoods_TJ_Hotdogs).
