It is the site of a 19th-century palace that belonged to [Anastazy Colonna-Walewski](/source/Anastazy_Colonna-Walewski), who was chamberlain of King [Stanislaus Augustus Poniatowski](/source/Stanislaus_Augustus_Poniatowski). Walewice attracts tourists because [Napoleon Bonaparte](/source/Napoleon_Bonaparte) had a love affair with [Countess Walewska](/source/Marie%2C_Countess_Walewski), who bore their son, [Alexandre Walewski](/source/Alexandre_Walewski), at the palace in Walewice.
