Wade Christensen was born in [El Reno, Oklahoma](/source/El_Reno%2C_Oklahoma), to James Christensen and Clairce Jo. His parents were teachers and farmers. He earned his bachelor's degree from [Oklahoma State University](/source/Oklahoma_State_University) and his [Juris Doctor](/source/Juris_Doctor) from the [University of Tulsa College of Law](/source/University_of_Tulsa_College_of_Law).
