WXCM broadcasts an [active rock](/source/active_rock) music [format](/source/radio_format) to the greater [Owensboro, Kentucky](/source/Owensboro%2C_Kentucky), area.<ref name="arb1"/> On January 4, 2010, the station began broadcasting the syndicated morning show "[The Free Beer and Hot Wings Show](/source/The_Free_Beer_and_Hot_Wings_Show)" distributed by [Compass Media Networks](/source/Compass_Media_Networks), but that show has since been discontinued due to low ratings.

The station was assigned the "WXCM" call letters by the [Federal Communications Commission](/source/Federal_Communications_Commission) on June 9, 1997.<ref name="fcc1"/>

In May 2016, WXCM-HD3 launched a classic hip-hop format branded as “100.5 The Vibe”.

On August 24, 2024, at midnight, after playing "[I Get Around](/source/I_Get_Around_(Tupac_Shakur_song))" by [2Pac](/source/Tupac_Shakur), WXCM-HD3/W263BG dropped its [classic hip-hop](/source/classic_hip-hop) format and began stunting with songs from [Taylor Swift](/source/Taylor_Swift) as “Taylor 100.5” in advance of an upcoming format change;<ref>{{Cite web |title=Taylor Takes Over Owensboro's Vibe |url=https://radioinsight.com/headlines/279001/taylor-takes-over-owensboros-vibe/ |access-date=2024-08-31 |website=RadioInsight |language=en-US}}</ref> the first song played during the stunting was "[Shake It Off](/source/Shake_It_Off)", and the final song played during the stunting was "[…Ready For It](/source/...Ready_for_It%3F)".
