It broadcasts a [news/talk](/source/Talk_radio) format[2] and is owned by Robert and John Landry, through licensee Sugar River Media, LLC.

## History

This station received its original [construction permit](/source/Construction_permit) from the [Federal Communications Commission](/source/Federal_Communications_Commission) on September 2, [2004](/source/2004_in_radio).[3] The new station was assigned the WUVR [call sign](/source/Call_sign) by the FCC on September 20, 2004;[4] it signed on November 19 as a simulcast of [WNTK-FM](/source/WNTK-FM) 99.7.[5] The station received its [license to cover](/source/Broadcast_license) from the FCC on January 26, 2005.[6]
