The '''Voreifel''' ("Fore-Eifel" or "Pre-Eifel") is the name of a settlement area in the southern part of the [German](/source/Germany) state of [North Rhine-Westphalia](/source/North_Rhine-Westphalia). It is a term that grew out of the local speech.

The region of the Voreifel includes the towns and villages of [Meckenheim](/source/Meckenheim_(Rheinland)), [Rheinbach](/source/Rheinbach), [Swisttal](/source/Swisttal), the southern villages in [Alfter](/source/Alfter), the western ones in [Wachtberg](/source/Wachtberg) and the northern villages of [Grafschaft](/source/Grafschaft_(Rheinland)). Geographically it forms the southeastern foothills of the [Zülpich Börde](/source/Z%C3%BClpich_B%C3%B6rde) in the [North Eifel](/source/North_Eifel), on the plateau between the rivers [Ahr](/source/Ahr) and [Rhine](/source/Rhine). The landscape is defined by the wide valley of the [Swist](/source/Swist). To the east it is framed by the [Kottenforst](/source/Kottenforst) and [Ville](/source/Ville) with the [Rhineland Nature Park](/source/Rhineland_Nature_Park), to the west at the foot of the Eifel, the Rheinbach Forest and the [Ahr Hills](/source/Ahr_Hills). To the southeast it transitions into the [Drachenfelser Ländchen](/source/Drachenfelser_L%C3%A4ndchen).
