**Volimes** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Βολίμες) is a community in the mountainous northwestern part of the [Ionian island](/source/Ionian_Islands_(region)) of [Zakynthos](/source/Zakynthos).[2] It was the seat of the municipality of [Elatia](/source/Elatia%2C_Zakynthos). The community includes the villages Agios Nikolaos, Askos, Varvara, Elies, Korithi and the uninhabited islet Agios Andreas.

Volimes is located 1 km west of [Ano Volimes](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ano_Volimes&action=edit&redlink=1), 3 km north of [Anafonitria](/source/Anafonitria) and 23 km northwest of [Zakynthos (city)](/source/Zakynthos_(city)). It is close to the [Ionian Sea](/source/Ionian_Sea) coast, and 7 km southwest of the island's northernmost point [Cape Skinari](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cape_Skinari&action=edit&redlink=1). The village suffered great damage from the [1953 Ionian earthquake](/source/1953_Ionian_earthquake).
