**Volcano Lake**, formerly called **Crater Lake**, is a [lake](/source/Lake) on [Vancouver Island](/source/Vancouver_Island), [British Columbia](/source/British_Columbia), [Canada](/source/Canada), located just south of [Puzzle Mountain](/source/Puzzle_Mountain) and west of [Elkhorn Mountain](/source/Elkhorn_Mountain) on west side of [Strathcona Provincial Park](/source/Strathcona_Provincial_Park).[1] The name is a misnomer – the lake is the result of glaciation.[2]
