# Vlky

**Vlky** (Hungarian: *Vők*) is a [village](/source/Village) and [municipality](/source/Municipality) in [Senec District](/source/Senec_District) in the [Bratislava Region](/source/Bratislava_Region), in western [Slovakia](/source/Slovakia).

## History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1283. After the [Austro-Hungarian](/source/Austro-Hungarian) army disintegrated in November 1918, [Czechoslovak](/source/Czechoslovakia) troops occupied the area, later acknowledged internationally by the [Treaty of Trianon](/source/Treaty_of_Trianon). Between 1938 and 1945 Vlky once more became part of [Miklós Horthy](/source/Mikl%C3%B3s_Horthy)'s Hungary through the [First Vienna Award](/source/First_Vienna_Award). From 1945 until the [Velvet Divorce](/source/Velvet_Divorce), it was part of [Czechoslovakia](/source/Czechoslovakia). Since then it has been part of Slovakia.
