**Vinod Sundar Panthi**[1] (born 1966) is an [Indian politician](/source/Indian_politician) and [social worker](/source/Social_work) from Madhya Pradesh. She is a former [Member of legislative assembly](/source/2008_Madhya_Pradesh_Legislative_Assembly_election) for [Bina](/source/Bina_Assembly_constituency) [constituency](/source/Electoral_district) of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) and she won the election in 2008 as a member of [Bhartiya Janata Party](/source/Bharatiya_Janata_Party) of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh).[2][3] She belong to the [Koli](/source/Koli_people) [caste](/source/Caste_system_in_India) of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh).[4]

## Early life and education

Panthi completed her graduation and received B.Sc. degree from Shaskiye Kanya Maha in 1985. Later, she did her MBBS from Ajmer from JawaharLal Medical College in 1994.[5] She married Sundar Lal Panthi, who is also a medical doctor.[5]

## Career

Panthi won the [2008 Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly election](/source/2008_Madhya_Pradesh_Legislative_Assembly_election) representing [Bharatiya Janata Party](/source/Bharatiya_Janata_Party) from [Bina Assembly Constituency](/source/Bina_Assembly_constituency) [Sagar district](/source/Sagar_district).[6][7] She defeated Dr Om Prakash Kathoria of [Indian National Congress](/source/Indian_National_Congress) by a margin of 6,409 votes.[8] She is one of the 25 woman legislators in 2008.[7]
