**Victor Ivanovich Ishayev** ([Russian](/source/Russian_language): Виктор Иванович Ишаев, born 16 April 1948) is a Russian politician. He has the federal state civilian service rank of [1st class Active State Councillor of the Russian Federation](/source/1st_class_Active_State_Councillor_of_the_Russian_Federation).[1]

He had been the Presidential [plenipotentiary](/source/Plenipotentiary) envoy in the [Far Eastern Federal District](/source/Far_Eastern_Federal_District) of [Russia](/source/Russia) from 2009 to 2012, the governor of [Khabarovsk Krai](/source/Khabarovsk_Krai) from 1991 to 2009, and a [Deputy](/source/Legislator) of the [Federation Council](/source/Federation_Council_of_Russia) of the [Federal Assembly](/source/Federal_Assembly_of_Russia) of the Russian Federation from 1993 to 2001.[2]

On 21 May 2012, he was appointed as [Minister for Russian Far East](/source/Ministry_for_Development_of_Russian_Far_East) in the [Dmitry Medvedev's Cabinet](/source/Dmitry_Medvedev's_First_Cabinet).

On 28 March 2019, he was arrested in Moscow on charges of abuse of power and embezzlement.[3]
